Would you like to know how I Big Garden Birdwatch? Look out for me and the knitted birds in the new RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch TV ad and you’ll be able to find out! (Bill the Pigeon hasn’t shut up about it yet, I think the fame has gone to his head – he’s on the front of the envelope that the Birdwatch pack is delivered in!).
What’s the Big Garden Birdwatch? For 40 years, the RSPB been asking us to count our garden birds for an hour, every January. Over half a million people regularly take part, creating an amazing amount of data which allows the RSPB to monitor bird numbers and see which species need help. It’s not just a great way to gather data about UK bird life, it’s also fantastic fun – take a look at the RSPB website to see the different ways that people do their Birdwatch – including me!
Watch the TV ad here, and sign up for your Birdwatch pack here. You’ll get a spotters chart, one of my blue tit knitting patterns, and much more!
Oh – and to celebrate my 1.5 seconds of fame, I’m offering 10% off all knit kits in my Etsy shop, until 31st December. No minimum purchase necessary, just enter the code BIRDWATCH at checkout.
